What it means to be a 21st Century school.
21st century education is about providing students with the skills they need to succeed
In line with our program of developing the whole child or young person, our school places a high value on cultural education which includes cultural engagement, social- and civic responsibilities and the recognition of effort and achievement. These elements demonstrate our values school’s cultural identity.
It is important to note that cultural identity is the identity of belonging to a group. It is part of a person’s self-conception and self-perception and is related to nationality, ethnicity, religion, social class, generation, locality or any kind of social group that has its own distinct culture. In this way, cultural identity is both characteristic of the individual but also the culturally identical group of members sharing the same cultural identity or upbringing.
Our cultural education program also involves developing the capacity for reflection. Students learn to reflect upon their own culture, the culture of others and culture in general.
Our rich and wide-ranging cultural education program consists of several initiatives encompassing cultural celebrations, exhibits, and social initiatives focused on ensuring holistic, worldly development of all learners.
